This is a map of Yingtan, China where Meng Wen is now.
We had her medical paperwork reviewed by an international adoption specialist and her future pediatrician (who has several other babies adopted from China in her practice & even studied some in China). They both agreed she is doing very well.
Our church has extra building space and we let a Chinese speaking church meet in one of our chapel areas. Each Sunday they have lunch as a group after their service. We went to the lunch last Sunday and we met a lady who was actually from Yingtan! It's a small world after all. The people at the lunch were so helpful. They translated the jist of our documents for us (our regular tranlator had a death in the family and had to stay in China but he was able to get them to us this week.)
We found out more about Meng Wen. She has been in foster care the whole time. She may be back at the orphanage now or she may stay in foster care til we come (pray for the latter - the fewer the disruptions, the better).
We sent a care package to the orphanage today. We gave chocolates to the nannies/ fosterparents, crayons for the older kids/foster siblings, and the boys picked out a snuggly lion with teether paws and a colorful mane for Meng Wen. We also put a letter in Chinese that we got off the internet in the package explaining how to use the disposable camera we put in. The letter also asked for more info on Meng Wen's life there. Hopefully, it will get to her. They aren't big on personal property there but we'll see.
We are practicing our phrases and getting ready to book flights!
